What does that mean?  Well, it means our company store is the location where Good Earth Farm CSA (community supported agriculture) members can pick up their weekly box of farm fresh produce from mid-June through October.  That’s 20 weeks of a variety of organic produce for roughly $25-$30 a week (depending on your share size)!

We are responsible for recruiting at least 10 members in order to be secured as a host site.  So with that said if you (or someone you know) lives in the Oshkosh area and would like to join, read over and fill out the application, write in green 3 on the application and send full or half payment to the address provided.   You can email trisha@green3apparel with any questions.

We had a group of nine students ranging from middle school to seniors in high school.  Our agenda included a tour and overview of green 3, which was followed by a lengthy and enjoyable question and answer session.  The kids asked a variety of really great questions.  From Jim and Sandy’s backgrounds, art and design, being a business owner, imported goods versus made in the USA, where we get inspiration and they even asked if Jim can draw…the answer…nope

Our art director, Jane showed the group how to draw on the computer and manipulate the image using different art programs.

Our lead sewer, Tina explained her background, and why she went back to school and got her degree just last year.

We wrapped up the visit by giving each kid a gift bag that included a scarf and hand warmers.  Doing this small thing for these kids was extremely rewarding.  The group exceeded our expectations with their politeness, inquisitiveness and to be completely honest, we cannot wait to do it again!

A few weeks ago I traveled down to Atlanta, Georgia to meet with one of our long time customers, Bas Bleu.  Their location is really quite interesting and is a classic case of urban renewal.  They are located in Inman Park and their building is a converted factory that originally housed The Blue Horse Notebook Company.  In the 1950′s, Blue Horse was the top seller of school supplies and stationary in the country.  The notebooks are even collectables now, if you could get your hands on one!

The revitalization took place starting in 2004 and now the neighborhood boasts brand new row houses that mimic the look of the surrounding original buildings.   Seeing an area like this where people realized the important aspect of its history and their willingness to sustain it, was truly impressive and worth noting.  So, if you happen to be in Atlanta, take a drive through Inman Park I promise, you will not be disappointed.
